CAJUN WOMAN: Pure and Simple is definitely worth the read. This is NOT a history book about Cajuns. It's a FUNNY book about the Cajun author's life that began in 1935. Today, everyone seems to concentrate on getting more things - bigger and better homes, cars, boats, swimming pools, etc. Both parents have to work in order to pay the bills for those things that have become so important.
Somehow, the close-knit family unit has virtually disappeared with more and more children experiencing lives with their parents living in separate homes.
We Cajuns are brought up believing that family is of the utmost importance! They are content to make do with whatever life sends them. The word fancy is not in their vocabulary.
Journey with the Cajun Woman through a time when life was indeed simple, unhurried, with few expectations, and the smallest things greatly appreciated.

CAJUN MOM: The Witch and the Kids
Childbirth was not an experience the author dreamed of as she cared for the screaming women having their babies in Charity Hospital's delivery room in 1954. After witnessing her first delivery, she vowed to remain childless, as those women were given NOTHING to allay their labor pains.
Her vow was broken when she married her Prince Charming in 1960, and became the mother of three by 1966. She learned that children are both a blessing and a curse during the years before they left the nest. With the nest empty, she decided to write about what raising three children had been like.
The author says, "My dear husband taught my very young children to wish me happy Mother's Day on Halloween. This is the reason for the title of my book of parenting stories. I remained the wicked witch until they all finally left home. I became the good witch of the south when our granddaughter was born. Ah! Grandchildren are much more FUN!"
Read about the children's antics, as well as one embarrassing story about the witch, and stories about the grandchild.
Price of $20.00 includes the tax.
